Cancellation & Refunds
You can stop a subscription from renewing at any time. This policy explains when cancellation takes effect, how statutory cooling-off rights work, and how to request a refund.
1. Cancelling renewal
Monthly and annual plans renew automatically until cancelled. A subscription bought on the website can be cancelled through the Stripe-hosted billing portal linked from your account. An Apple App Store subscription can be cancelled through Apple's subscription settings in the app. Cancellation stops the next renewal and normally takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Your Tldrs remain in your account unless you separately request deletion.
If you are on an introductory trial, cancel before the trial end shown at checkout and in your account to avoid the first monthly charge. A cancelled trial retains access only until its stated end. Trial usage has no cash value. The trial has one allowance across its seven days, and a fresh paid allowance begins after the first successful payment.
For a website subscription, if the billing portal is unavailable, email harveyyorke@proton.me. For faster verification, use your account email and include "Cancel subscription" in the subject. Any clear cancellation statement is sufficient, and we will use the time it was received when determining whether a renewal should be stopped. We may verify your identity before changing the account.
TLDR Pods cannot cancel an Apple subscription on your behalf. Deleting your TLDR Pods account does not stop Apple billing, so cancel that subscription in Apple's settings before deleting the account if you do not want it to renew.
2. Cooling-off rights
If you are a UK or EEA consumer buying online, you will normally have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period from the day the subscription contract starts. To exercise it, send a clear cancellation request to harveyyorke@proton.me before the period ends.
If you ask us to begin the service during the cooling-off period, the law may allow us to deduct a proportionate amount for service supplied before cancellation. The right to cancel the subscription service is lost only if the service is fully performed after your express request and acknowledgement.
Digital Tldrs are supplied in digital form. If you expressly consent to immediate digital supply and acknowledge the consequence, the right to cancel that digital-content supply is lost once supply begins. Before paid checkout, a focused immediate-access dialog presents the service-start request and digital-supply consent separately, with neither selected in advance. Your subscription confirmation email records those choices. We will never use this policy to remove a mandatory right available to you under applicable law.
3. Model cancellation form
You may use the form below, but it is not obligatory. Any clear statement that you are cancelling is sufficient.
To: YORKECCAK LTD, 21 Hornyold Avenue, Malvern, WR14 1QJ, United Kingdom, harveyyorke@proton.me
I give notice that I cancel my contract for the supply of a TLDR Pods subscription.
Ordered on:
Name of consumer:
Address of consumer:
Signature of consumer (only if this form is notified on paper):
Date:
4. Failed Tldrs & service faults
A run that fails before producing a Tldr should not count against your plan usage. Where the system can detect the failure, the allowance is restored automatically. If it is not restored, email us with the approximate time and query so we can investigate.
If the paid service is not provided with reasonable care and skill, is materially not as described, or cannot be supplied, you may be entitled to repeat performance, a price reduction, or another remedy under consumer law. Contact us and explain the problem so we can put it right.
5. Other refund requests
Outside statutory rights, charges for a billing period that has started are generally non-refundable. We will review duplicate charges, billing errors, unauthorised payments, and exceptional service failures fairly. Cancelling because you no longer need the service does not by itself create a right to a partial refund for the remaining period.
Annual subscriptions are billed upfront. After any applicable cooling-off period, cancelling prevents the next annual renewal but does not normally produce a pro-rata refund for unused months, unless required by law or expressly agreed by us.
6. Requesting & receiving a refund
For a website charge, email harveyyorke@proton.mefrom your account email with the charge date, amount, reason, and any relevant Tldr or invoice reference. Do not send full card details. We may ask for information needed to verify the account and payment. Refund requests for App Store charges must be submitted through Apple; the app provides Apple's refund-request and subscription-management controls.
Where the statutory cancellation right applies to a charge we collected, we will refund the original payment method without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you inform us of your decision to cancel. Apple processes approved App Store refunds under its payment process. Your bank, card provider, or app marketplace may take additional time to display it.
7. Prices, tax & plan usage
Checkout or the App Store purchase sheet shows the amount, currency, billing interval, and applicable tax before payment. Tldr allowances reset or operate as described on the pricing page. Unused monthly allowances do not roll over or have cash value. Refunds and cancellation do not permit continued paid access beyond the period retained or refunded.
